GATE JAM Outreach Programme

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in collaboration with the Placement and Career Guidance Cell of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, organized an informative orientation session titled “GATE JAM Outreach Programme” on August 7, 2026. The event took place at 3:00 PM in the Conference Hall and was tailored primarily for science undergraduate students aiming to pursue higher studies and research opportunities in premier national institutes.

The session was facilitated by resource persons from the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. Mr. Prashanth, Outreach Coordinator, and Mr. Shivakumar V, Outreach Associate at IISc Bengaluru, served as the key speakers. During their address, the resource persons provided comprehensive guidance on the structure, eligibility criteria, and preparation strategies for both the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) and the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). They highlighted the wide range of academic pathways available at top-tier institutions like IISc, IITs, and IISERs, alongside career prospects in research and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).

Around organizing the event was led by Mrs. Deeksha (Staff Convenor), Dr. Sabina D’Souza (IQAC Coordinator), and Mrs. Vidya Patali (Dean of Science), under the leadership of the Principal, Sr. Dr. M. Venissa A. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session where students addressed their queries regarding application procedures and exam preparation, making the programme highly impactful and beneficial for aspiring candidates.
