Department of Computer Application (M.C.A)
St Agnes College (Autonomous) has been offering the Master’s Degree in Computer Applications from the academic year 2022-23. The MCA course is affiliated to Mangalore University and is approved by AICTE.
The college provides excellent infrastructure in the centenary building of the huge St Agnes College campus, located at Bendore, Mangaluru. The Department has a well-equipped laboratory and ICT enabled classrooms. The academic curriculum prepares the students to develop the technical skills and managerial skills that suits the present IT industry standards. The students are given an opportunity to work in teams and create mini projects in all the semesters.
The department also encourages students to enhance their communication skills and logic building capabilities. The students can enroll to various forums and participate in extra- curricular activities of the department.
Objectives of the Department
To groom students to be software professional who can be employed across all domains in the IT industry
To create students who can pursue research in the field of Computer Science and contribute to the society at large.
To enable students to become entrepreneurs who can launch small businesses and high-tech start-ups
Duration
The duration of the course is two years.
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant should have scored 50% aggregate marks in BCA/ B.Sc. (Comp. Sc.) or those who have scored 50% aggregate in the qualifying examination (all the years, B.Sc., B.Com, B.B.M., BBA etc), provided the candidate has taken Maths/Business Maths at the PUC level or the Degree level and has scored 50% marks.
