Agncommunication skills esian Toastmasters Club, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organised a session on ‘A TOAST TO EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION BY TOASTMASTERS’ on 22 March at 1.20 p.m. in the Avila auditorium of the college. DTM Dr Malini Hebbar was the resource person. She spoke about the need for effective Communication in all spheres of life. She urged the students to make value choices and build up their communication skills, which is the need of the hour as far as employability is concerned.

She presented the mission of Toastmasters International which completed a hundred years this year.

She urged students to make use of the opportunity provided by the college as it was indeed a blessing to have a Toastmasters Club on campus. She also spoke about how most companies seek graduates who have been Toastmasters as they have already been trained in soft skills. This was a membership drive conducted by the Vice president Membership Toastmaster Sandhya Nayak and the President of the club Toastmaster Dr Premanand. This session was conducted for the students of I & II B.A. English Major. In all there were 50 plus students and four staff members from the Department of English were also present. It was a fruitful interactive session.
