The Department of Computer Animation organized a Career Guidance Session on “Animation and Design” on 10th September 2025 in A2 Hall from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The session aimed to enlighten students about the vast and evolving opportunities in the fields of animation, design, and emerging digital technologies.

The resource person for the session was Mr. Prathik Ramesh, an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the media industry. He has worked for over two years in the industry, handling diverse roles such as freelance editor, motion graphic designer, and animator.

His professional journey also includes serving as the Head of Post-Production for projects associated with renowned OTT platforms like Amazon Prime and Netflix. Additionally, he has contributed as a facilitator at 3Di Nepal, guiding creative minds in animation and design, and currently serves as a lecturer at St. Aloysius Deemed to be University. During the session, Mr. Ramesh covered a wide spectrum of topics that are vital for students aspiring to build a career in creative industries. He discussed career opportunities in graphic design and 3D animation, providing insights into the skill sets and tools required in these areas. He also explained the process and importance of rotoscoping, a key element in visual effects production, and elaborated on the growing scope of jobs in the animation and graphic design fields.

Furthermore, the session explored advanced domains such as Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), emphasizing how these technologies are reshaping storytelling, gaming, and design experiences. He also addressed the impact of automation and artificial intelligence (AI) on the creative industry, highlighting both the opportunities and challenges that these advancements bring to aspiring animators and designers.

The session was highly engaging, with students actively participating and interacting with the resource person. They gained not only technical knowledge but also valuable career insights, helping them understand industry expectations, workplace dynamics, and the need to stay updated with technological innovations.
