The Department of Clinical Psychology at St. Agnes Centre for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Mangalore, celebrated World Environment Day June 5th, 2025 by organizing a Photography Competition on the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution” and a Caption Writing Competition. The contests were held across three categories—Teaching and Support Staff, Sisters of St Agnes Institutions, and Postgraduate Students—and received enthusiastic participation. Winners of the photography competition included Mr. Roopesh Kumar (MBA Department), Sr. Christine Delphine (UG Commerce), and Mr. Royden Mascarenhas (Support Staff). In the Sisters category, Sr. Christine Delphine (UG Commerce) and Sr. Evet Priya Machado (Physics) secured the first and second prizes respectively. Among postgraduate students, the first and second prizes went to K Muhammed Qais (MSc Big Data Analytics) and Kshamya Amin (1st Year MCA). In the Caption Writing Competition, winners included Dr. Ita Dsouza (UG Chemistry), Ms. Panchajanyeshwari (MCA) under teaching category, Ms. Amy Lydia Fonseca (UG Support Staff), and Mr. Royden Mascarenhas (PG Support Staff). Sr. Gloria Dsouza AC and Sr. Nitya Dsouza won the first and second prizes respectively in the Sisters category, while Greeshma R Bangera (MSc Big Data Analytics) and Pooja S S (1st Year MBA) were awarded in the postgraduate student category. Prizes, reflecting the institution’s commitment to eco-conscious living, were distributed by Sr Dr Venissa AC (Principal), Sr. Carmel Rita (Administrator), and Sr. Dr. Roopa Rodrigus (Vice Principal). The celebration served as a reminder to carry the spirit of environmental responsibility beyond the day itself and into everyday life.
