The Postgraduate Department of English, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, organized Bookish Strokes, a Pan-India online drawing and writing competition, aimed at encouraging creativity and literary expression among young minds across the country. The participants had to expand the lines given in the brochure into a story and they also had to provide a suitable illustration for the story written by them.
The registration for the competition opened on 21 March 2025 and was closed on 1 April 2025. The competition received an enthusiastic response with a total of 22 participants from various Pre-University and Degree colleges actively registering and showcasing their talents through unique illustrations and writing.
Participants were required to submit their entries online by 4 April 2025.
The following participants were declared winners on 20 April 2025:
- First Place: Rowena Chrsyl D’Cunha and Pratheeksha K. Poojari – St Aloysius PU College, Mangalore.
- Second Place: Amisha B. Nayak and Poornashree – MGM College, Kunjibettu, Udupi.
The competition served as a vibrant platform for students to express their creativity through writing and art.
