A Seminar on “Career in Data Analytics” was delivered by Ms. Relisha Dsouza, Asst Prof of MSc. Big Data Analytics on April 12th for third year BCA batch students of Padua College of Commerce and Management, Nanthoor, Mangalore. The session began with a simple introduction to the concept of big data and how it is becoming increasingly important across different industries. Then she spoke about the various job roles available in the field of data analytics and also shared information about the required skills, current industry demand, and potential salary ranges, helping students understand the career scope. Further, she included details about the semester-wise curriculum and placement assistance provided to students. She also highlighted success stories of alumni who have been placed in reputed companies, and internship opportunities that previous students have undertaken in various organizations. To give students a complete picture of campus life, she spoke about the different events and activities under the program, such as intercollegiate and intra-collegiate fests, as well as technical workshops.Towards the end of the session, a few current students from the Big Data Analytics program from St. Agnes College, joined in to share their personal experiences, challenges, and learnings with the BCA students of Padua College. The seminar was well-received and proved to be informative for the students. It helped them gain better clarity about the field of big data analytics.
