On 20th September 2025, as part of their ATC activity, the students of III B.Sc. undertook a community outreach visit to White Doves Mangalore Psychiatric Nursing and Destitute Home, Kulshekar under the guidance of faculty member Mr. Chethan Kotian.

The group, comprising 32 ATC students, assembled near the open-air stage at 10:50 AM. Attendance was taken prior to departure, and the team left the college premises at 11:00 AM. Accompanied by Mr. Chethan, the students walked to the nearby bus stand, boarded a bus, and disembarked at Kalpane Bus Stand. From there, the group proceeded on foot and arrived at the White Doves premises at 12:15 PM.

Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by Ms. Savitha (Administrator), who provided a detailed and insightful overview of the home’s mission, daily operations, and the wide range of services offered. She also led a guided tour of the facility, helping the students gain a deeper understanding of how the home functions. A promotional video presentation followed, highlighting the organization’s work and the compassionate values that guide their efforts.

One of the most inspiring moments of the visit was learning that Ms. Corrine Rasquinha, the founder of White Doves, is an alumna of St Agnes College. This revelation filled the group with a deep sense of pride and made the visit even more meaningful.

The most memorable part of the day was the interaction with the residents. Students were divided into smaller groups and spent quality time engaging in conversations with them. Listening to their life stories and observing their strength and resilience was a humbling experience that left a lasting impression on everyone.

The visit concluded with a final attendance check. The group departed from White Doves at 2:45 PM, marking the end of a successful and impactful outreach activity.

Overall, the visit was a deeply enriching experience that instilled in the students a greater appreciation for compassion, service, and community involvement. It offered a powerful reminder of the importance of empathy and the profound impact of dedicated social work. We are sincerely grateful for the opportunity to witness the transformative work being carried out at White Doves a day that will remain etched in our hearts.
