The Postgraduate Department of Chemistry and the Chem Aura Association at St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, in collaboration with APD Foundation, organized a Community Service to commemorate Daan Utsav on 29 September 2024 at Kadri Police Station. The event was focused on providing lung checkups for traffic personnel in recognition of their constant exposure to pollution and harsh environmental conditions.

The primary goal of this event was to offer free lung checkups to traffic personnel, acknowledging their health risks due to prolonged exposure to vehicular emissions. The initiative aimed to promote awareness regarding respiratory health and provide necessary medical attention to those who serve in challenging environments.

This initiative was a part of Daan Utsav, a national festival of giving, encouraging communities to contribute to social welfare. By focusing on traffic personnel, the program addressed a crucial health concern and fostered community engagement, social responsibility, and public health awareness.

The Community Service Event at Kadri Police Station was a commendable effort by St Agnes College, Chem Aura Association, and APD Foundation. It highlighted the importance of respiratory health among traffic personnel while promoting a culture of giving and community welfare. Such initiatives reflect the college’s commitment to social responsibility and holistic education.
