The Department of Commerce conducted a series of innovative and dynamic competitions under the COMQUEST banner, each aiming to highlight the talents and creativity of commerce students from 27th March to 15th April 2025. Below is a summary of the events held.

1. Eco-Innovate: Turning Waste into Wealth
Date: 27 March 2025
Venue: L15

The event promoted sustainable creativity by encouraging participants to recycle and repurpose waste materials. Conducted by Ms. Aysha Lathif (III BCom CMA), four teams participated with two members each. Teams had one hour to create useful items from waste, and the event was judged by Ms. Mokshita and Mrs. Pooja from the Commerce Department. Judgment criteria included creativity, originality, and relatability. Wineva Viona Vass and Sonal Vegas (II BCom ACCA) won first place with a handmade vase using newspapers and plastic flowers, while Preemal Monis and Esha Martha D’Silva (III BCom ACCA) secured second place. The event witnessed active involvement and team spirit, and appreciation was extended to the judges, Dean Mrs. Nimitha, HOD Mrs. Vinitha, and Sheryl, Commerce Vice President.

2. The Winning Blueprint – Action Plan Contest
Date: 28 March 2025
Venue: L13

This case study competition tested the analytical, problem-solving, and presentation abilities of students. Coordinated by Preemal Monis, Serena, Ivin, and Spoorthi from various BCom streams, the event saw participation from seven teams. Each team was given a case study to analyze and present solutions within five minutes, followed by a Q&A session. Judges Ms. Jennifer and Mrs. Merin evaluated the participants on their teamwork, analysis, and presentation. Calvisha Dsouza, S Navyashree, Archana Bhat, and Afra Abdul Khader (III BCom ACCA) bagged first place, and the second place went to Nabhan, Sweedal, Leston, and Pranjali (I BCom ACCA). Mementos were presented to the judges in appreciation of their efforts.

3. High Pressure Pitch
Date: 1 April 2025
Venue: L13

This marketing-themed event tested participants’ ability to sell failed products creatively. It was organized by Tejaswini, Ananya, and Shamitha from different BCom streams, with six participating teams. After product distribution, each team had three minutes to pitch and a two-minute Q&A session. Judged by Ms. Anusha and Mr. Fredvin, the competition highlighted communication, persuasion, and creativity. Derisha Sequeira and Tripti (III BCom ACCA) won first place, and Kowshik Shetty and Samuel Dsouza (II BCom CMA BPS BA) came second. The event was a true test of adaptability and marketing skills.

4. Commerce Creators – Reel Challenge
Date: 1 April 2025
Venue: Department of Commerce

This digital media competition focused on creativity and presentation in the form of short reels. Coordinated by Pooja K (III BCom ACCA) and Shlagana (I BCom ACCA), six teams participated by submitting their reels before the deadline. Judges Sr. Christina and Mr. Delson assessed the reels based on originality, editing, and appeal. Aditi Gowda and Nigha Fathima (III BCom ACCA) secured first place, while Ananya Palai and Kamarunnisa (II BCom CA) earned second. The event was vibrant and modern, showcasing student creativity in a digital format.

5. The Corporate Walk
Date: 2 April 2025
Venue: A4

This event focused on coordination, style, and professional presentation. It was managed by Kowshik Shetty, Tanisha, and Rizwana from the commerce stream. Eight teams participated, and each team had 3+1 minutes to showcase their corporate-themed walk. The event began with a welcome speech and was judged by Mrs. Jeslin and Mr. Nelson. Judging criteria included styling, coordination, and showmanship. II BCom Regulars were declared the winners, while II BCom ACCA took second place. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Kowshik, expressing gratitude to the judges, faculty, and all participants.

6. Entertainment Extravaganza – Variety Entertainment
Date: 15 April 2025
Venue: A4

This variety show celebrated talent, energy, and unity among students. The event started with a welcome address by Ms. Slaviya and included five participating teams. Judged by Mrs. Sandhya Pai (Department of English) and Ms. Melanie Shetty (Journalism Department), performances were evaluated on creativity and team effort. III BCom CMA won the first prize, and II BCom Regular secured the second. Ms. Akishma delivered the vote of thanks, and tokens of appreciation were presented to the judges by Mrs. Pooja from the Commerce Department. The event successfully brought joy and unity to the department.

These events not only provided a platform for students to showcase their talents but also fostered a strong sense of teamwork, innovation, and competitive spirit. The winners of all the COMQUEST competitions will be officially announced and felicitated during the SACCSA Valedictory Ceremony.
