The workshop started with a prayer song led by Ms. Manisha and team. Dr. Dolan Champa Banerjee, Head of Department of PG Commerce welcomed and introduced the speaker.
The session began with the introduction of data types and scale of measurements. The speaker explained the importance of knowing the data types and NOIR classification as this information is essential in selecting the statistical techniques and methods for data analysis. The participants were provided with data set in order to have hands-on experience of the software.
The session continued with the introduction and importance of types of analysis, measures of central tendency, tests for normality. This was followed by understanding the difference between parametric and non-parametric tests. The speaker concluded with a brief discussion on factor analysis.
The workshop concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Sabah, Final year M. Com student and token of gratitude was given to the resource speaker. The participants shared their positive feedbacks with the resource person.
