Day 1: Visit to Munnar – 6th October 2024
After lunch, students visited KDHP Co. Pvt. Ltd – Madupatty Tea Factory, where they observed the complete tea production process—from initial processing to final packaging. This gave the students an understanding of quality control, production operations, and supply chain management in the tea industry.
Later, the group visited MACOFA Chocolate Factory, where students learned about chocolate processing from cocoa fruits and explored various value-added products. Tasting sessions provided an engaging insight into product quality and customer satisfaction.
The day concluded with an overnight stay in a dormitory in Munnar.
Day 2: Visit to Ramakkalmedu – 7th October 2024
The group visited several tourist and cultural sites in Ramakkalmedu, including the Tamil Nadu Viewpoint, Tortoise Cave, Solar Viewpoint, and the Kuravan Kurathi Statue. Students gained insights into local culture, heritage, and the tourism sector’s impact on regional development. The day ended with recreational activities, including a pool session.
Day 3: Visit to Kochi – 8th October 2024
On the final day, the group traveled to Kochi. The visit included:
- Fort Kochi– Observing traditional fishing methods and transportation techniques, emphasizing time and process management.
- Jew Town and Synagogue– Exposure to historical artifacts and cultural preservation.
- Marine Drive– Understanding cargo handling and the logistics of the shipping industry.
- Lulu Mall– A study of retail marketing strategies, shelf management, consumer behavior, and pricing techniques. The hypermarket visit demonstrated effective promotional practices and customer engagement.
Dinner was arranged at Iftar Restaurant, after which the team departed from Kochi at 11:30 PM and returned to Mangalore at 2:00 PM on 9th October 2024.
