The Department of Statistics conducted an Extension Activity for the school students of Higher Primary School, Ashoknagara, Ladyhill on 11 December 2025. The programme was organized by thirteen III B.Sc. students under the guidance of a faculty member.
The objective of the programme was to create awareness about the use of computers and MS Excel for mathematical computations. The students explained the basic use of computers, demonstrated simple mathematical calculations using Excel, and highlighted the importance of computers in performing complex calculations quickly and accurately. They also introduced the concept of data visualization using simple charts.
The programme was interactive and helped school students understand the educational importance of computers. The extension activity was successfully conducted and was beneficial to both school students and the participating students.
