The objective of the competition was to promote eco-friendly cooking practices among students. The competition was open for both UG and PG students, encouraging them to showcase their culinary creativity without usage of fire.
The competition focussed on sustainability by advocating energy conservation, and healthy eating habits among participants. The contestants were challenged to prepare five dishes using techniques such as chopping, blending, garnishing and assembling. Sixteen teams brought their own ingredients, table cloth and utensils adhering to zero-waste principle.
The judges for the competition were Ms Joanna Simon Assistant Professor, Department of English, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mrs Prima Ferrao Assistant Professor from Department of Nutrition and Mr Roopesh Kumar Assistant Professor from Department of MBA. The dishes were judge based on innovative presentation, unique flavour, variety, cleanliness and nutritional value. The competition witnessed a wide variety of innovative recipes including desserts, smoothies, salads, and many savoury items. The event not only promoted green cooking but also highlighted the importance of sustainable living.
The first prize winners of the competition were Ms Harshini, Ms Ananya, Ms Srinidhi and Ms Thrisha from the program B.Com professionals. The first prize was sponsored by Mr Ahammed Ashfaq, II M.Com student. The second prize was bagged by Ms Kushi, Ms Rakshitha, Ms Pooja, and Ms Sathwika from MBA department. The third prize winners were Ms Tenisha Gonsalves, Ms Prathvi S Pawar, Mr Rosten Veigas, and Ms Sonal Veigas from B.Com ACCA batch.
