On 4th April 2025 the Dept. of Hindi conducted a Guest Lecture addressing ‘Gender Equity in the Workplace’ for the students of II-BCA and II-BBA. The session aimed to enlighten students about the significance of equal prospects in the workplace irrespective of gender. The resource person for the session, Dr. Dimple Jenifer Fernandes, Asst. Prof and HOD, St. Philomena College Puttur, shared her expertise on the importance of Gender Equity in the Workplace stressing on key factors such as in equal pay, societal norms, childhood conditioning as well as discrimination against both men and women in their field of work. Finally she highlighted the importance of equal rights and opportunities in the workplace for everyone to successfully progress in the future. The session proved to be an enriching and informative experience, equipping students with essential knowledge on gender equity. It was a step forward in promoting awareness among students and fostering a generation with a new mind-set.
The programme was emceed by Ms.Jeshal Ivan Dsouza of II BCA ,Dr Shailaja rai HOD of the Hindi department and Dr R Nagesh Dean of Arts and Humanities were present on the occasion.
