The Department of Business Administration (MBA) at St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, successfully conducted a quiz competition titled “Genius Arena – Only the Sharpest Will Survive” on February 13, 2025, at the Seminar Hall, Mother Mary Aloysia Centenary Block.
The competition was open to all undergraduate students of the college, providing them a platform to showcase their general knowledge, critical thinking, and teamwork. A total of 14 teams, each with two members, participated enthusiastically in this two-round event.
The Preliminary Round, held at 12:50 PM in LH 01, tested participants through a 50-question pen-and-paper quiz. After a three-way tie, a tie-breaker led to the shortlisting of eight teams for the final round. The Rapid-Fire Buzzer Round, conducted at 2:15 PM in the Seminar Hall, challenged participants with over 100 fast-paced questions. The session was hosted by Quiz Master Professor Gerard D’Souza, who kept the energy high and the competition intense.
Team Mahima and Samantha (2nd BCA) secured the first place, followed by Team Alric and Samuel (2nd BCOM) as runners-up. The winners received certificates and cash prizes, while all participants were given e-certificates of appreciation.
The event was organized under the leadership of Ms Sheryl Preethika (HOD – MBA), with active support from Professor Gerard D’Souza, and student coordinators Ms. Roncita D’Souza and Ms. Vaishnavi Shetty. It was a valuable learning experience for the MBA students, who handled the entire event planning, content creation, and execution.
Overall, the quiz competition was a resounding success, enriching participants’ knowledge and providing MBA students with hands-on experience in leadership and event management.
