The Post Graduate Department of Chemistry, St Agnes College organised a guest lecture on 27 September 2019 for the students of I year and II year MSc Chemistry on the topic “Suitable method for NET/SET preparation” by Dr M. R. Maddani, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Mangalore University. The session started with a formal welcome by Ms Varshitha of II M.Sc. Chemistry followed by the introduction of the guest speaker by Ms Zubaida of II M.Sc. Chemistry.

Dr M. R. Maddani started the session by sharing some information on Chemistry on the history- Today using his slides. He also showed the various opportunities for job and higher studies after M.Sc. Chemistry in India as well as in abroad. He explained the exam pattern for NET/SET, marks distribution, preparation steps, the important topics on which the students have to concentrate etc. He also explained the advantages of being a Ph.D. and applying for a job whether in the industry or in teaching or in research. The session was very informative and stimulating for the students.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms Mamatha from II M.Sc. Chemistry. Dr Geetha M. Pinto, Head of the Department presented a memento to him as a token of appreciation and gratitude.
