The PG Department of English at St. Agnes College Autonomous, Mangaluru, hosted a captivating horror storytelling session on August 30, 2025, titled “Night of Shadows,” featuring Dr. Geralyn Pinto as the esteemed speaker. The event commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Zubaida, Head of the English Department, who greeted Dr. Pinto and presented her with a beautifully potted plant as a token of appreciation. Dr. Pinto then initiated the session by sharing valuable storytelling tips, setting the stage for an immersive experience.

As Dr. Pinto began narrating her thrilling stories, the audience was completely enthralled. Despite sharing three captivating tales, the audience’s enthusiasm was palpable, and they urged her to recite one more story, a testament to her exceptional storytelling prowess. Following the engaging session, Dr. Pinto proceeded to award prizes to the winners of the “Tales of Horror” story writing contest, which was conducted on August 28, 2025. The winners were thrilled to receive their awards from Dr. Pinto, who was herself honored with a memento as a token of gratitude from the department.

The session drew a large and eager audience comprising students and alumnae of the English department. The PG English students played a significant role in creating a suitable ambiance for the event, complete with thoughtful decor and music that perfectly complemented the theme.
