The resource person for the session was Ms Suchithra, SEBI approved Securities Market Trainer & Assistant Professor who shared her expertise on the subject. She initiated her knowledge sharing with the concepts of Savings and Investment. Then she elaborated the meaning and objectives of an IPO which requires careful planning, strong fundamentals and transparency. She referred many companies such as D-Mart from FMCG sector, LIC, Zomato- a tech start up and explained investors’ expectations from these non-conglomerates. She also cautioned the participants that IPO investments carry risks and directed everybody to read the offer document before investing.
The session proved to be very insightful and engaging, as it provided students valuable insights that are highly useful in academics as well as professional careers. Overall, the session was a resounding success and this initiative exemplifies the department’s commitment towards holistic education for excellence and transformation.
