The Department of Computer Applications organized an interactive session on “Industry–Academia Connect” on 23 August 2025, aimed at bridging the gap between academic learning and industry practices.

The resource person for the session was Ms. Valeny Joylin Goveas, an alumna of St Agnes College (BCA) who pursued her M.Sc. in Data Science at St Aloysius College. She is currently a Software Development Engineer at Mresult Technology Pvt. Ltd., with rich professional experience.

The program began with a warm welcome by Mr. Hadi, III BCA. In her address, Ms. Valeny shared her academic and professional journey, emphasizing the importance of acquiring technical skills, undertaking projects, and gaining internships that shape career growth. She also gave a live demonstration of a project developed during her internship, offering students a practical understanding of applying classroom knowledge to real-world challenges.

The session was highly engaging and insightful, with active student participation. It provided a valuable platform for students to understand industry expectations and prepare themselves to transition effectively from academics to professional practice.
