The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Dr Mallika Shetty, Assistant Professor, Department of MBA and IIC Convenor, who highlighted the purpose of the challenge and the college’s commitment to nurturing innovative thinking. This was followed by an inspiring address by the Principal, Sr Dr M Venissa A.C., who emphasised the importance of entrepreneurship as a vital skill in today’s evolving world. The President of IIC, Sr Dr M. Vinora A. C., also addressed the gathering, encouraging students to embrace creativity, take risks and transform ideas into impactful ventures. Mrs Akshatha Shetty, Assistant Professor, Department of MCA and Innovation Co-ordinator, introduced the rules of the competition to the 11 participating teams, explaining the evaluation criteria and the significance of demonstrating working prototypes.
A total of eleven teams participated in the challenge, presenting diverse and innovative concepts across sustainability, technology, wellness, women-centric services, automation and retail solutions. Each team showcased their idea through prototypes, models or visual simulations, aligning with the theme “Prototype Matters.” The presentations reflected creativity, problem-solving skills and the ability to identify real-world challenges. The competition also featured special insights from Dr Praksha C Naik, founder of Chandayush Pvt Ltd, who introduced her startup journey, and Ms Aishwarya B.A, Advocate and Asst Project Manager at Inunity Pvt Ltd and Shine Foundation, shared valuable thoughts on innovation and entrepreneurship, motivating students to pursue their ideas with dedication.
After all teams presented, the judges evaluated the concepts based on innovation, feasibility, clarity, prototype quality and potential impact. Following careful deliberation, Mr Gaman Banjan from St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) was declared the Runner-Up. His product idea was Fluxella, an automatic printing machine. The winners were Mr Roshan, Mr Rudolph, and Mr Mohith from St Agnes PU College, who presented an automated water level controller called HydroGuard. Mementoes were presented to the judges as a gesture of appreciation for their contribution and expertise.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Athmika from ll MBA, who expressed gratitude to the management, organising committee, judges, faculty members, participants and volunteers for ensuring the success of the event. The Campus Entrepreneurship Challenge proved to be a valuable learning experience, inspiring students to take their first step towards innovation-driven entrepreneurship. The event successfully reinforced the mission of the Institution’s Innovation Council by promoting creativity, prototype development and idea validation through expert mentorship and constructive feedback.
