The Department of Computer Science organized an IT Quiz Competition in connection with World Computer Literacy Day, which was celebrated on 15th February. The event aimed to enhance students’ technical knowledge, promote awareness about the IT industry, and encourage healthy academic competition among students.
The Preliminary Round was conducted on 12th February for all Computer Science students. An online basic IT quiz was organized to test students’ foundational knowledge in computer science, information technology, and current IT trends. The preliminary round witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across all classes. The 15 qualified students were grouped into five teams, with three members in each team. The teams competed in the final round held on 14th February.
The Finals consisted of five exciting and challenging rounds:
1. IT Quiz Round: Questions were asked from core areas of computer science including networking, programming, operating systems, and emerging technologies.
2. Tagline Round – Identify the Company: Teams were required to identify IT companies based on their famous taglines.
3. CEO Identification Round: In this round, teams identified the CEO and the respective company based on the displayed photograph.
4. Jumbled IT Words Round: Participants solved complex jumbled technical terms within a limited time.
5. Rapid Fire Round: Each team answered a series of quick IT-based questions under time constraints, testing their speed and accuracy.
The competition was conducted in an engaging and well-organized manner, maintaining fairness and transparency throughout the event. The quiz competition successfully enhanced students’ technical awareness, encouraged teamwork and coordination, improved quick thinking and decision-making skills and created enthusiasm for learning beyond the classroom. The event concluded with the announcement of winners and appreciation for all participants for their active involvement.
