The KALAKRITHI Mehndi Competition was successfully organized by the Department of Chemistry Centre for Postgraduate Studies and Research in Association with Chemaura association, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru on 21 August 2025 at 11.30 a.m.

The primary objective of this competition was to provide a platform for participants to showcase their artistic skills and creativity in the traditional Indian art of mehendi. The event aimed to promote cultural values and a sense of appreciation for this intricate art form. In this competition 25 teams consisting of two members each were participated. The theme for the competition was Indian Cultural Fusion. The competition commenced with great enthusiasm and witnessed a high level of participation. Participants demonstrated their exceptional talent and creativity through a variety of intricate and unique designs. The atmosphere was filled with a spirit of artistic expression and cultural celebration. A wide range of designs, from traditional Indian patterns to modern fusion styles, were on display. Participants were given a time limit of 60 minutes, to complete their designs. The designs were judged on criteria such as: Creativity and originality, Neatness and finishing, Overall appearance, and presentation. The judging process was carried out by a distinguished panel of judges, who are experts in the field of art and design. The judges were: Ms Swathi, Assistant professor of Department of Statistics and Ms Rosetta Sequera, Assistant professor of Department of Clinical Psychology.

1st Prize was bagged by Thrisha V N and Shrinidhi (III BCom), judges were impressed with meticulous attention to details and unique fusion of tradition.2nd Prize was bagged by Shravya D and Shubhashree ( I MSc BDA).
