The inaugural programme began with a prayer song, followed by a welcome address delivered by Ms. Kushi Shetty. The Chief Guest, Sr. Janet Sequeira, Vice Principal of St. Agnes PU College, inspired the gathering by stressing the importance of life skills such as communication, interpersonal skills, decision-making, problem-solving, creative thinking, and coping with stress and emotions. She emphasized that these life skills collectively empower individuals to effectively manage personal and social challenges, thereby promoting overall well-being and success. Ms. Faaiza Faizal, III BBA presented an overview of the workshop, and Ms. Sannidhi S Shettyproposed the vote of thanks
The first session on Communication and Confidence Building was conducted by Ms. Caroline Maria Pais, Life Skills Facilitator. She began with an ice-breaking activity where students introduced themselves using an adjective, followed by an exercise in which they spoke about a person they admired. These activities enabled students to practise effective communication, boost their confidence, and develop a positive self-image by overcoming hesitation and expressing themselves clearly.
The second session on Emotional Intelligence and Stress Management was conducted by Ms. Preetham Kamath, Facilitator, Behavioural Trainer, and Counsellor. Through interactive activities and group problem-sharing exercises, students were encouraged to develop empathy, active listening, and mutual emotional support. The resource person further highlighted the role of emotional intelligence in managing stress and building healthy relationships.
The third session on Building Positive Relationships was conducted by Mr. Melson Dsouza, Assistant Professor at St. Agnes College (Autonomous). Students engaged in dynamic activities such as multilingual greetings, number-matching teamwork, and blindfold balloon games, which emphasized the importance of trust, cooperation, and mutual respect in fostering strong and positive relationships.
The workshop concluded with a lively action song, leaving the participants motivated and enthusiastic. Overall, the event was a great success, providing PU students with valuable skills in communication, emotional intelligence, and relationship building, thus equipping them with tools essential for both personal and professional life.
