Day 1

The Induction Programme for the first-year MBA students commenced on Day 1 following the inaugural ceremony. Sr. Dr. M. Venessa A.C. delivered an inspiring and motivational address, encouraging students to bring out their best and pursue excellence throughout their MBA journey. Ms. Jansil Saldanha, an alumna of the MBA program, shared her valuable experiences and offered practical guidance to the new batch, motivating them to make the most of their time at St. Agnes College.

Later, in the classroom sessions, Mrs. Sheryl Preethika, Head of the Department of Business Administration, conducted an interactive session on departmental etiquette, responsibilities, and introduced the in-charges of various activities and clubs. The day concluded with a session by Mr. Chaco P. J., Assistant Professor, who briefed the students on the MBA curriculum, academic structure, and expectations for the upcoming semester.

The first day of the induction program set a positive tone for the new academic journey ahead.

Day 2

Ms Shavina Soans conducted the Day 2 Induction Programme for the MBA Batch 2025–2027 under the theme “Connect and Collaborate.” The session aimed to promote confidence, teamwork, and interpersonal communication among the newly inducted students, helping them build a strong foundation for their management journey.

The activities conducted by Ms. Shavina Soans provided students with valuable learning experiences that went beyond classroom interaction. Through group exercises, skits, and self-introduction sessions, students learned the importance of teamwork, creative expression, and confident communication.

Day 3

The Department of Business Administration organized an insightful and interactive session titled “The Power of Presence: Communicating with Confidence” conducted by Ms Carol Pais as part of the MBA Induction Programme Day 3. The session aimed to help students enhance their personal and professional communication skills through the development of presence, confidence, and authenticity in interpersonal interactions.

Key takeaways from the session included the importance of self-awareness, body language, and non-verbal cues in creating a strong impression, how one’s demeanor, posture, and tone reflect inner confidence and clarity. Building confidence in communication by overcoming fear and anxiety while speaking in public. Active listening as an essential element of confident communication. Understanding others’ perspectives to build rapport and trust.

Day 4

The PG Department of Business Administration organised insightful sessions for the MBA students on November 6, 2025, as part of its continuous learning and skill development initiative. The sessions aimed to enhance both technical competence and emotional well-being of the students.

The morning session was conducted by Ms Vaishnavi Shenoy and Mrs Sweedle Dsouza, Assistant Professors, MCA Department. During this session, students were introduced to the basic functions of MS Word and MS Excel, focusing on their applications in academic and business contexts.

The afternoon session focused on “Mindfulness and Mental Well-being.” The session began with a warm welcome address that highlighted the importance of mindfulness in today’s fast-paced world. The resource person for the session was Dr V. Premanand, Head of the Department of M.Sc. Psychology.

The sessions were highly beneficial, offering students valuable learning experiences from technical skills in the morning to emotional and psychological well-being in the afternoon.

Day 5

The Departments of MBA and MCA organized two enriching sessions on 7th November 2025, held in Seminar Hall, Centenary Block for 1st year MBA and MCA students on the topic “Groom to Bloom. The resource person for the session was Mr. Karthik Alva, Founder of Thrust Academy, who has extensive experience in the aviation industry with Jet Airways and as an Immigration Officer at the New Zealand Consulate.

Mr. Karthik conducted a dynamic and motivational session focusing on grooming, communication, and confidence building. He emphasized the importance of professional behaviour, positive attitude, and personality development in career advancement.

In the upcoming session which was conducted in the Afternoon, the Department of Business Administration organized an Alumni Interaction Session at the PG Auditorium for the I MBA students. The session was coordinated by Dr. Mallika B Shetty, who introduced the alumni from the Batch of 2022–24 — Ms. Kshama Bangera, Mr. Likith, Ms. Jansil Saldanha and alumni from the Batch of 2023 -25 — Mr. Vinston Menezes, and Ms. Venessa Veigas.

The event began with engaging team interactions, where each alumnus met with different groups of students, sharing their experiences, career journeys, and key lessons learned during their MBA days. Their words of encouragement and practical advice inspired the first-year students to make the most of their academic journey.

The five-day Induction Programme concluded successfully, providing students with valuable insights, inspiration, and a sense of belonging to the MBA fraternity. It marked a promising beginning to their transformative academic journey ahead.
