The Department of Mathematics celebrated National Mathematics Day on 19th December 2025 at 2:30 p.m. to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.

As part of the celebrations, various competitions were conducted throughout the week for the students at the college. These activities aimed at fostering logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deeper appreciation for mathematics among students. The competitions witnessed active participation and enthusiastic involvement from students across different departments.

In addition to the competitions, a talk titled “Know Your Numbers: A Guide to Personal Finance” was organized for the benefit of the students. The session was delivered by Mr. Melson D’Souza from the Department of BBA, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru. The talk focused on helping students understand numbers in everyday life, especially in managing personal finances effectively. The session emphasized basic financial literacy, smart budgeting, and the importance of numerical awareness in making informed financial decisions.

Prize distribution was conducted to recognize and appreciate the winners of the various competitions, encouraging students to continue their interest in mathematics and related activities. The celebration successfully highlighted the relevance of mathematics beyond textbooks and classrooms, encouraging students to apply mathematical thinking in real life situations.
