The inaugural program started with a short prayer. Sr. Dr. M. Venissa A.C, Principal, St. Agnes College (Autonomous) extended her good wishes. Ms. Nimitha K. HOD of B. Com welcomed and introduced the speaker. Sr. Dr. M. Vinora A.C Coordinator of Post Graduate Studies and Research, St. Agnes College (Autonomous) highlighted the importance of financial avenues for students. Ms. Dolan Champa Banerjee, HOD Post Graduate Department of Commerce compered and moderated the whole session.
The main objective of the webinar was to inculcate the habit of savings among students.
Dr. Sharan Kumar Shetty, Associate Professor, MSN Institute of Management, Mangaluru the resource speaker of the day spoke about the importance of finance in our daily lives. He continued, as COVID has pushed us in a different situation hence each one of us should know the importance of finances in our lives and avenues to save it. He drew a relationship between study, work, earn, spend and to live a life with saved money to build assets and not liabilities. He also elaborated the essence compounding. He strongly reflected on an equation, Earning – Savings = Spending.
The forum was also open for questions. The resource persons clarified the respective questions raised by the students. Ms. Rishel Dsouza, M. Com student rendered the vote of thanks.
