Orientation Programme for I B.Com students

The Department of Commerce organized an orientation Programme for I B.Com students on 24 June 2025. Ms Samruddhi B K an Alumna and Assistant Professor at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) was the resource person. During her speech, Ms. Samruddhi emphasized the importance of active participation in extracurricular and co-curricular activities during college life. She highlighted how such involvement not only helps build soft skills like teamwork, leadership, and communication but also enhances students’ overall personality and confidence.

Another key point in her address was the value of completing MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) programs. She encouraged students to take advantage of online platforms such as NPTEL, Coursera, and edX to acquire new knowledge and keep up with industry trends.

The students were shown a PowerPoint presentation that introduced the faculty members and highlighted the various activities conducted during the previous academic year.

The Head of the Department, Mrs Vineetha addressed the I B.Com students, providing them with important instructions regarding academic guidelines, discipline, and active participation in departmental activities.

To help the students get to know each other and feel more comfortable, a series of fun ice-breaking games were organized.
