The programme commencedwith the formal inauguration. The workshop brought together eminent resource persons who shared valuable insights and practical knowledge with the participants.
The Chief Guest and Resource Person, Dr. Preethi Keerthi D’Souza, Associate Professor, Mangalore University, delivered an engaging session on “Leadership Excellence: Building Future Leaders.” Her session focused on developing leadership qualities among students, highlighting the importance of vision, confidence, responsibility, and effective decision-making in becoming successful leaders. She motivated the students to identify their strengths and work towards continuous self-improvement.
The second technical session was conducted by Ms. Caroline Maria Pais, Vice President of the St. Agnes College Alumni Association and a Soft Skills Trainer. She delivered a thought-provoking session on “The Art of Powerful Communication.” Through interactive activities and examples, she emphasized the significance of communication skills in personal and professional life. The participants actively engaged in discussions and activities that helped them understand how communication can influence leadership, relationships, and career growth.
The third session was handled by Mr. Prashanth Alison, Head of the Department and Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, Maps College, Mangaluru. His session on “Stronger Together: Building High Performance Teams” highlighted the importance of teamwork, collaboration, trust, and collective responsibility in achieving organisational success. Through practical illustrations and group activities, he encouraged students to appreciate the value of working together and building effective teams.
As part of the department’s sustainability initiative, the Department of Commerce prepared notepads using unused papers. These recycled notepads were distributed to all the student participants during the workshop. This initiative was taken to promote environmental awareness and responsible use of resources, while also encouraging students to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.
