Poetica and Konkani Sangh, St. Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, jointly organized Poetica Session-3 & Poetica Kavigoshti 38 on March 27, 2025, to celebrate and promote Konkani literature and poetry. This program was brought to life with the generous support of Mr James and Mrs Shoba Mendonca.With their encouragement and sponsorship, Konkani Sangh was able to celebrate the rich tradition of Konkani poetry and provide a platform for the voices that express our shared culture.The event was inaugurated by Chief Guests Mr. Joachim Stany Alvares, President of the Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, and Mr. Marcel D’Souza (Machcha Milar), a distinguished Konkani poet. In his address, Mr. Alvares commended Poetica and Konkani Sangh, St. Agnes College, for their dedicated efforts in nurturing Konkani literature and assured continued support from the Konkani Sahitya Academy. Presiding over the event, Sr. Dr. M. Venessa A.C., Principal of St. Agnes College, praised the collaboration and encouraged students to actively engage in Konkani poetry and literary activities. The inaugural programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Solita Ferrao, a second-year B.Com (ACCA) student.The program featured insightful sessions by Mr. Maurice D’Sa, Mr. Lavi Ganjimata, and Mr. Naveen Pereira from Surathkal, who provided valuable guidance on poetry writing and recitation techniques. More than 26 poets showcased their literary talents through their compositions. The Kavigoshti session was moderated by Dr. Flavia Castelinho, ensuring a well-structured and engaging discussion. During the valedictory session, Chief Guest Mr. Christopher Sequeira presented mementos to the participating poets. Mr. Amey Naik from Goa was recognized for delivering the best poetry performance. As a token of appreciation, Mr. Naveen Pereira presented a memento to Mr. Melson D’Souza, Coordinator of the Konkani Sangha.The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Melson D’Souza, staff convenor of Konkani Sangh. The program was efficiently compered by Ms. Lenita Lobo, a second-year BBA student.
