As part of World Mental Health Week 2024, the Department of Clinical Psychology organised an interactive session for teachers titled “Prioritise Mental Health in the Workplace”. The event was specially designed to offer educators a day dedicated to their own well-being, considering the constant demands they face in their professional roles.

The session included light-hearted and engaging games aimed at reducing stress, building positive energy, and promoting relaxation. These games encouraged laughter, teamwork, and friendly competition—allowing teachers to take a break from routine responsibilities and focus on their own mental health. Briefly discussed the importance of emotional self-care and how even short moments of joy and connection can make a positive difference in daily life.

The session was well – received, with teachers expressing gratitude for the opportunity to pause, reflect, and enjoy themselves. It served as a reminder of the importance of taking time out for self-care and highlighted the value of creating mentally healthy workplaces.

Teachers appreciated the thoughtful initiative and suggested having such wellness-focused activities more regularly. Many found the games refreshing and expressed feeling more relaxed and connected with their colleagues.
