Psychology Forum conducted  a poster-making competition titled “Voices of Hope” on 29 August 2026 in L19 .The programme was organised  in connection with World Suicide Prevention Day with the objective of promoting awareness about mental health, emotional well-being, suicide prevention, and the importance of providing appropriate support to individuals experiencing emotional difficulties.The competition was centred on three key themes: Awareness, Empathy, and Action. A total of 13 groups participated and presented creative posters conveying messages related to mental health awareness, compassion, support, and help-seeking.

The programme aimed to:

  • Promote awareness regarding mental health and suicide prevention.
  • Encourage empathy, compassion, and non-judgemental communication.
  • Emphasise the importance of reaching out and providing appropriate support.
  • Provide students with a creative platform to communicate socially relevant psychological messages.
  • Encourage teamwork, creativity, and application of psychological knowledge.

Students worked collaboratively to conceptualise and design posters reflecting the central message of “Voices of Hope.” The posters incorporated meaningful messages and visual representations highlighting the importance of understanding mental health, demonstrating empathy, and taking appropriate action when individuals experience emotional difficulties.

The activity enabled students to translate their academic understanding of psychology into creative and socially relevant communication. The entries were evaluated on parameters including relevance to the theme, creativity, clarity of message, psychological relevance, presentation, and overall impact.

The programme contributed to increased awareness of mental health and the importance of supportive interpersonal relationships. It also strengthened students’ creative expression, teamwork, communication, empathy, and social responsibility. The activity encouraged students to reflect on their role in creating a more understanding and psychologically supportive campus environment.

The “Voices of Hope” poster-making competition was a meaningful and socially relevant initiative of the Psychology Forum. Through creative expression and collaborative participation, the programme effectively highlighted the importance of awareness, empathy, and appropriate action in promoting mental well-being and building a supportive campus community.
