The Postgraduate Department of Computer Applications (MCA) organized an energizing session titled “Refine and Rise” focusing on aptitude, soft skills, and personality development on 5th July 2025 and 19th July 2025 at 11:00 AM in the PG Auditorium. The resource person for the session was Mr. Abhilash Kshatriya, Founder and Proprietor of Abhijnya Education, and ICF CCE Certified Trainer and Coach.

The session aimed to equip 1st year MCA students with essential skills to improve their aptitude, enhance their soft skills, and develop their personality for better academic and professional readiness. Mr. Abhilash emphasized the importance of consistent practice and focused learning, reminding students that “to get something, you must learn something,” and encouraged them to adopt a growth mindset in their preparation journey. He shared practical shortcuts for solving quantitative and logical reasoning problems efficiently, guiding students on how to approach aptitude questions systematically and effectively while underlining the importance of understanding concepts rather than merely memorising them.

The session was interactive and activity-based, designed to keep students engaged while learning practically applicable skills. Activities included practising tongue twisters to improve communication clarity and fluency, solving riddles to build critical and analytical thinking skills, and learning how to apply the 6Cs of presentation- Clarity, Conciseness, Correctness, Concertness, Courtesy, and Completeness- to enhance the effectiveness of their communication during interviews and presentations. Students actively participated in group discussions, mock interviews, and problem-solving exercises conducted during the session. The session received a positive response as it helped students gain clarity on how to prepare for placement drives and face interviews with confidence.

Additionally, Mr. Abhilash highlighted the importance of managing emotions and actions under pressure, an essential component of personal and professional development, especially while preparing for campus recruitment and competitive environments. He encouraged students to maintain a balance between academics and personal growth, reminding them to focus on holistic development to face the challenges of the IT industry and professional world effectively.

Towards the conclusion of the session, three students shared their reflections, expressing how insightful and practical the session was, helping them gain a clear understanding of placement preparation and boosting their confidence to face aptitude tests and interviews. They expressed gratitude to the department for organising a session that provided valuable strategies and motivated them to prepare consistently and effectively.

The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Spoorthi, who expressed deep gratitude to Mr. Abhilash Kshatriya for his time, practical guidance, and engaging delivery, which made the session impactful and inspiring for the students. Overall, the “Refine and Rise” session served as a valuable platform for students to learn, reflect, and prepare themselves for their academic and professional journey with confidence and clarity.
