The Department of Commerce of St. Agnes College (Autonomous) organized an industrial visit for the I and II year B.Com and BBA (Logistics) students to VRL Logistics, Kuloor. The visit was held with the objective of giving students practical exposure to logistics operations and enhancing their classroom learning with real-world applications.

A total of 35 students took part in the visit, accompanied by two faculty members Mrs. Vineetha N. T. and Ms. Merin V. M. The students were warmly welcomed by the officials at VRL Logistics, and the session was led by the Manager, who provided a detailed explanation of the company’s operations.

The manager explained the various activities of logistics, including the systematic process of sorting and separation of goods, handling consignments, and maintaining efficiency in deliveries. The students were also introduced to the workshop facilities, where heavy vehicles undergo regular maintenance and repair. This “garage system” gave students a first-hand understanding of how logistics companies ensure the smooth functioning of their fleet to maintain timely transportation services.

The visit was highly beneficial as students were able to connect theoretical concepts with practical insights, gaining knowledge on both the operational and technical aspects of the logistics industry. The interactive session helped clarify many of their queries and offered them a glimpse into the career opportunities within the logistics sector.

Overall, the industrial visit to VRL Logistics proved to be an enriching and informative experience, leaving the students motivated and inspired to explore the dynamic field of logistics further.
