The Department of Business Administration organized an engaging and impactful session titled “Soft Skills for a Smarter Edge” on July 24, 2025, for II BBA students, the session aimed to enhance students’ communication and presentation skills by highlighting the importance of not just what one says, but how it is said and presented. Ms Raveena Maria Mascarenhas, Assistant Professor, St Agnes Centre for Post Graduate studies and Research, served as the resource person and drew on Dr Albert Mehrabian’s Three V’s theory—Visual, Vocal, and Verbal—to explain key elements such as eye contact, body posture, gestures, vocal modulation, and appropriate word usage. She also introduced the 4 P’s of vocal delivery—Power, Pause, Pitch, and Pace—through lively activities including lyrical recitations in English, and Hindi. The verbal component focused on improving grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation through interactive examples, along with tips for building fluency through reading, listening, and speaking practice. Fun-filled activities like “Dumb Charades” and “Word Chain” kept the session interactive and enjoyable. The programme was compered by Ms Shrajana, and Ms Fathima Maleehah delivered the vote of thanks, appreciating the contributions of the resource person and faculty. The presence and support of department staff added to the success of the event.
