The session on “Unlocking Your Potential: Strategies for Academic Success” was conducted by Prof. Clement D’Souza on 11th November 2025, for the first year MBA Students. The session proceeded in MBA classroom, 10 am onwards.

The resource person was introduced by Ms. Sahana Poonja, who warmly welcomed him and set the tone for the session.

Prof. Clement D’Souza began with an inspiring story about an eagle, drawing lessons on aligning oneself with ground realities and fostering a holistic approach to personal and academic growth. He emphasized the importance of re-prioritizing who we are, understanding our strengths and weaknesses, and striving for continuous improvement.

Through real-life case studies of eminent personalities such as Emma Watson, Stephen Curry, Marie Curie, Elon Musk, J.K. Rowling, and Thomas Edison, he illustrated how individuals can unlock their true potential through perseverance and self-belief.

He highlighted key components of preparedness — including setting SMART goals, embracing continuous learning, and developing essential skills. Prof. D’Souza also discussed strategies for unlocking potential, such as embracing challenges, building networks, cultivating a growth mindset, and surrounding oneself with positive influences. The difference between a fixed and growth mindset was clearly explained, encouraging students to adopt the latter.

He urged students to take time to explore different career paths and to develop not only soft skills but also practical, real-world skills necessary for success.

The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Anisha, expressing gratitude to the resource person for his enriching and motivational address. A token of gratitude was then presented to Prof. Clement D’Souza by Mr. Roopesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, as a gesture of appreciation.
