On July 10th, St. Agnes College organized a vibrant community service project in celebration of Vanamahotsava. Twenty-five enthusiastic students, accompanied by Mrs. Neetha, Assistant Professor of BCA, visited BEM Moegling English School in Carstreet to mark the occasion. The event commenced with a soulful prayer song led by Shrinidhi, a third-year BCom student, followed by a warm welcome and program hosting by Aastha, also a third-year BCom student. Mrs. Vijaya, a teacher at BEM English School, addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of Vanamahotsava in promoting environmental awareness and sustainability. The college students actively engaged with the primary school children through interactive games and lively dance performances, creating a joyful and memorable experience for all.
Following the cultural activities, a tree plantation drive was conducted on the school campus, where six saplings were planted by the students and faculty, symbolizing their commitment to nurturing nature. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Neetha, and chocolates were distributed to the children as a token of appreciation. The participants returned to college at 12:30 pm, having successfully completed a meaningful and impactful community service initiative.
