On July 31, 2025, fifteen members of the St. Agnes Alumni Association visited Veronica Vihara, a home for mentally and physically challenged adults. The visit, a part of the Alumni Association’s ongoing community outreach program, was spearheaded by Vice President Ms. Marjorie Texeira and aimed to foster meaningful connections and bring happiness to the residents.

The alumni were warmly welcomed by the sisters and the 19 residents, creating an immediate atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie. The evening was carefully planned to engage and uplift everyone involved. It began with a heartfelt prayer song by Ms. Asha Menezes and her team. This was followed by three fun-filled games, organized by Ms. Jeanette Dsouza, Ms. Carol Coelho, and Ms. Joan Lobo, that had the residents eagerly competing for attractive prizes.

After the games, light refreshments and individual gifts were distributed to all residents. The energy continued to build as Ms. Asha Menezes and her team performed lively baila songs. The residents also entertained the alumni with their song and dance performances, further strengthening the bond between the two groups.

The event proved to be a heartwarming and enriching experience for both the alumni and the residents. The staff of Veronica Vihara, including Sr. Maria Jyothi, expressed their deep appreciation for the alumni’s time, effort, and enthusiasm. Ms. Marjorie Texeira remarked that the visit was a powerful reaffirmation of the association’s commitment to social responsibility, emphasising that such initiatives not only benefit the community but also provide alumni with a meaningful way to stay connected and give back.

The evening ended with the alumni feeling grateful for the opportunity to serve and share in the joy of the residents, leaving with smiles on their faces and joy in their hearts.
