The Department of Political Science successfully organized an insightful webinar on 18th March 2026, titled “Economic Growth and Trade Policies: The Role of FDI, FTA, and FDA” aimed at enhancing the understanding of BA Political Science students on key aspects of international trade and economic development.

The webinar was conducted on 18th March 2026 and featured esteemed resource speaker Prof. Clement Dsouza, who is an Academic Advisor and Soft Skills Trainer. Prof. Dsouza shared his expertise on the crucial topics of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Free Trade Agreements (FTA), and Foreign Direct Investment (FDA), emphasizing their significance in fostering economic growth and shaping trade policies.

Mrs. Gayathri BK, Head of the Department of Political Science, organized the event, ensuring smooth proceedings and active engagement from students.

Prof. Dsouza explained FDI as foreign investments in a country’s economy that boost capital, technology, and employment. He discussed FTAs as treaties reducing trade barriers to promote exports and cooperation. FDA, often used interchangeably with FDI, was highlighted for its role in sectors like healthcare and education, influencing infrastructure and growth. The webinar emphasized how these policies drive economic development, create jobs, and impact national sovereignty, offering students valuable insights into global trade and growth strategies.
