Workshop on “Linux with Docker”

A workshop on “Linux with Docker” was organized for the teaching staff of the Departments of MCA and BCA on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, by Mr. Ravi Bhat, Founder of Duotech Global. The workshop commenced with a welcome speech by Mrs. Panchajanyeswari M Achar, HOD of the MCA department, who introduced the Resource Person to the staff. Mr. Bhat. The participants were given a brief introduction to Linux and Linux commands. The session started with training the participants in hands-on execution of basic Linux commands. Subsequently, he explained the concept of Containerization and its distinction from Virtualization.

In the afternoon session, he introduced the participants to the concept of Docker and basic Docker Commands. Simultaneously, he guided the participants through hands-on execution of basic Docker commands and explained how to pull a Docker image from Docker Hub and create containers from the image. All the participants actively involved in the learning process with hands-on training given by the resource person. He also elaborated on the functioning of Docker Volumes. The workshop was concluded by Mrs. Akshatha Shetty, who proposed the vote of thanks.

The workshop proved beneficial for the teaching faculties of both B.C,A and M.C.A as they were introduced to the new concept of Docker. A total of 12 faculty members benefited from the workshop.
