The Department of Animation organised a session on “AI for Creative Direction – Using AI for Generating Realistic Visuals” on 2nd March 2026 for the students of the department. The session aimed to introduce students to the growing role of artificial intelligence in the creative industry and how it can be used as a powerful tool for visual storytelling and content creation. The programme began with a prayer led by Maria and Sanjana, invoking blessings for the successful conduct of the event. The emcee for the session, Taskeen Salam, warmly welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource person for the day, Mr. Prathik Ramesh, highlighting his experience and work in the field of creative media. During the session, Mr. Prathik Ramesh spoke about the rapid growth of artificial intelligence and its increasing influence in creative industries such as animation, filmmaking, advertising and digital media.

He explained how AI tools are transforming the way visual content is produced, enabling creators to generate high-quality images, videos and concepts within a short span of time. He demonstrated several AI platforms that can be used for generating realistic visuals, concept art and video content. Through live demonstrations, he showed how different AI tools can assist artists in visualising ideas, creating backgrounds, designing characters and developing story concepts. This gave students a practical understanding of how AI can be integrated into the creative workflow.

A significant part of the session focused on prompt writing, where the speaker explained the importance of giving clear, detailed and structured prompts to achieve the desired visual results. He guided students on how to frame prompts effectively by including details such as style, lighting, camera angle, mood and composition. This helped students understand that the quality of AI-generated output largely depends on the clarity and creativity of the input provided by the user. To further inspire the students, Mr. Prathik Ramesh also showcased some of his own projects created using AI tools. These examples illustrated how AI can be used not only for experimentation but also for professional creative production. His works demonstrated the possibilities of combining human creativity with artificial intelligence to produce unique and realistic visuals.

The session was highly interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions and asking questions about AI tools, creative workflows and career opportunities in AI-assisted design and animation. The talk helped students gain valuable insights into the evolving landscape of digital creativity and the role AI will play in shaping the future of visual media.
