On 3 December 2022, the students of III B.Sc. St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru visited Ranipura Primary school as part of Agnes towards Community initiative.

The main theme for the day was waste management and a number of activities based on this theme were planned to educate the students of Ranipura School.

The Head mistress of the school cordially welcomed us and the programme began with a short introductory session followed by ice breaker and games.

The entire ATC group was split into seven groups and the activities were conducted class wise. A sense of awareness on the need for managing the waste was created among the students. Segregation of wet and dry waste, Recycle, Reduce and Reuse by making wealth out of waste, a fun based activity was conducted for the students. The awareness session concluded with a fun filled action song which filled the students with great enthusiasm.

The Headmistress thanked the ATC group for such an educative session. As a token of our love, some grocery and stationary items were handed over to the Headmistress to distribute among the needy students. The ATC group was assisted by Mrs Froidy Fernandes, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany who thanked the staff and students of Ranipura School for the opportunity given and support extended.

About 70 students from Ranipura Primary school were the beneficiaries of the awareness programme.
