The objective of the event was to promote environmental awareness and creativity among students by encouraging them to transform waste materials into useful and decorative items. Participants were asked to use discarded materials such as newspapers, plastic bottles, cardboard, old fabrics, and other household waste to create innovative products. The activity aimed to highlight the importance of sustainable living and responsible waste management.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of the psychology department. Each participant showcased impressive creativity, imagination, and resourcefulness while designing their items. Various innovative creations such as pen stands, decorative pieces, organizers, and eco-friendly crafts were displayed. The competition not only provided a platform for artistic expression but also helped students understand the significance of minimizing waste and protecting the environment.
The judges evaluated the participants based on creativity, originality, usefulness of the product, and effective utilization of waste materials. The competition was lively and inspiring, with students learning practical ways to reuse everyday waste items.
The program was successfully coordinated by Ms. Bindushree, Student Co-ordinator, under the guidance of Ms. Divya Ramachandran, Staff Co-ordinator. Their efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the event and motivated students to actively participate.
The event concluded on a positive note with appreciation for all the participants. The “Best Out of Waste” competition successfully conveyed the message that small efforts today can make a big difference tomorrow by promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility.
