“Today is an auspicious day as we are celebrating the 72nd Independence Day and every individual should enjoy the freedom and feel proud of our nation. To run an institution for 100 years is not an easy task. St Agnes College principal Sr Jeswina A C has ventured into a mega project of constructing centenary memorial block. The good we have done for the society will always come to our rescue. We need to have faith in people who will support in one or the other way,” the bishop said. “St Agnes for the last 100 years has trained many students who have excelled in their career because of the value based education taught here. St Agnes has excelled in not only imparting education but also shaping students and transforming them into good citizens and leaders of the society. Education imparted should have values such as creative, intellectual, academically competent, technically upright, physically fit and socially committed,” he added.

“It is my privilege to take part in this programme. We should not forget the contribution made by the Christian missionaries. They are the reason behind the revolution of education in the region. This institution started with 24 students and now has reached the capacity of 4000 students.
