To help students understand the role of multimodal transportation in logistics, supply chain management and international trade, the Department of Business Administration (MBA) of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, organised a guest talk titled 'Professionalism in Multimodal Logistics' on 12th October 2026 at 10:00 AM in the Seminar Hall, Centenary Block, for the students of I and II MBA.
The resource person was Capt. John Prasad Menezes, CEO of Menezes and Associates, Principal Marine Consultant, Nautical Surveyor, Expert Witness and Maritime Arbitrator.
The session started with Ms Riyah Ara Asif introducing Capt. John Prasad Menezes to the audience. Capt. Menezes provided valuable insights into how different modes of transport – road, rail, sea and air - work together to ensure the efficient movement of goods. He elaborated on the significance of professionalism in managing multimodal operations and discussed key evolving aspects of the industry including digitalization, sustainability and risk management in logistics. He also highlighted career opportunities in the logistics and supply chain sector, guiding students on how to prepare for professional roles in this dynamic field.
The session was highly interactive and broadened students' understanding of the evolving logistics industry. As students preparing to step into the professional world, the session inspired them to apply these learnings in their academic journey and future careers. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks. As a token of gratitude, Mrs Sheryl Preethika, HOD of the Department of MBA, presented a memento to the speaker.
