The Post Graduate Department of chemistry organized a valedictory programme Certificate Course on “Learn a Business” which was held at PG auditorium of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru on 23 July 2022.
Mrs Harini J Rao is the chairperson of district Small Industries Association (DSIA) Women’s wing, Mangaluru. She have organised more than thousand women entrepreneurship programmes from Puttur to Udupi district. She is the crusader for the plastic free bags and have honoured with awards like rotary club and inner wheel club of Surathkal, for battling cancer, and was honoured by Yuvavahini women’s wing Mangaluru and many more, who successfully taught to make a business from candle making, liquid soap, cushion covers, fabric bags, artificial jewellery and many more assisted by Mrs Shanti from 20 June 2022 to 23 July 2022.
The programme started at 2.30 p.m. The programme was compered by Jeena of II M. Sc. Chemistry. Prayer by led by Sneha Treasa and Roshini. Mrs Shailakshi conveyed her opinion on certificate course and motivated the crowd to take a step on startup. Johan and Vidya conveyed their opinion on the course followed by distribution of certificates which were given away by Mrs Harina J Rao and Mrs Shanthi.
It was overall a good experience for students from undergraduate and postgraduate departments to know how chemistry was applicable on the day today basis.
