Mangaluru, July 30, 2026: The Annual General Meeting of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru was held on 30 July 2026 at 2:30 p.m. in Avila Hall (A4). The meeting witnessed the enthusiastic participation of the Management, faculty members, parents and students.

The programme was presided over by Sr Dr M. Venissa A.C., Principal, President of the PTA, Sr Dr Marie Prem D’Souza A.C., Joint Secretary of St Agnes Institutions and Mrs Shanti Nazareth, Secretary, PTA. Mr Francis Mendoza, Vice President, PTA, welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest.

The Chief Guest, Dr Smitha Hegde, Principal and Director of Research, Centre for Advanced Learning (CFAL), Mangaluru, delivered an insightful keynote address on “Children’s Mental Health: The Shared Responsibility of Parents and Teachers.” She emphasized that children’s emotional well-being is the collective responsibility of both parents and educators. Encouraging parents to maintain open communication with their children, she highlighted the importance of understanding their emotional needs, offering timely support, and creating a nurturing environment that enables them to grow into confident and resilient individuals.

Addressing the parents Sr Dr M Prem Dsouza

stressed the pivotal role of parents in shaping the character and values of their children. She reminded the gathering that academic achievement alone does not define success; strong moral values, discipline, empathy, and integrity are equally important. She encouraged parents and teachers to work together in guiding students towards becoming responsible citizens and compassionate human beings. She noted that the college strives to empower every student with the knowledge, values, and opportunities needed to achieve greater heights in life.

As part of the proceedings, Ms Vinotha N. T, Treasurer PTA presented the Annual Report for the academic year 2025–26, highlighting the college’s academic accomplishments, co-curricular activities, student achievements, and institutional initiatives. The Income and Expenditure Statement for the financial year 2025–26 was also presented, offering a transparent overview of the college’s financial status and budgetary allocations.

PTA executive member were nominated from the group for the year 2026 – 27.
