Lecture on the ‘Union Budget Analysis 2026’ was delivered by Mr Clement J Dsouza, Academic Advisor and Soft Skills trainer. The session was held on 13/02/2026 at St. Agnes College (Autonomous). The session aimed to provide students with a clear understanding of the key features and implications of the budget 2026-27.

Clement Sir began his lecture by explaining the overall objectives of the present budget and the government’s vision for economic growth and development. He highlighted important aspects such as public revenue, public expenditure, capital expenditure, revenue expenditure, taxation and fiscal policy.

During the session, he elaborated on the allocation of funds to sectors like education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and technology. He also discussed how the budget focuses on inclusive growth, ensuring benefits reach different sections of society. The speaker further explained the impact of the budget on common citizens, businesses, and the youth. He emphasized the importance of financial planning and responsible fiscal management for the country’s progress. The session was highly informative and interactive. Students gained valuable insights into how the national budget influences economic stability and development.

Ms Florine Clara Dsouza, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics was the convenor and Ms Shyni Delisha Monteiro, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics was also present. Ms. Mahima from II B. A was master of ceremony and Ms.Tanisha Shakthawat from III B.A proposed vote of thanks.
