St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru conducted a guest talk on Civil Rights to live in Harmony on 3 December 2022. It was organized by the Human Rights Education Cell and Harmony Club of the college. The session commenced with a prayer by Ayfuna and Sona and the welcome address was delivered by Shanti Nazareth, Coordinator of Human Rights Education Cell. The guest speaker for the day was Mrs Raviprabha, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science Besant College, Mangaluru. Over 80 students were present for the guest talk from both the forums. The topic was ‘Civil Rights to live in Harmony’. Mrs Raviprabha said that to live in harmony, we civilians must be aware of our rights so that we learn to respect each other’s space emotionally, physically, mentally and socially. She opined that all fundamental rights are human rights but all human rights are not fundamental rights. As citizens of our country we should do our duties and not want privileges only. The session concluded by vote of thanks by Ayfuna, Harmony Club Secretary. Sona Christy, Human Rights Education Cell Secretary compered the programme.
