The session began with a prayer song by Women’s cell members. Ms Apeksha welcomed the gathering and the resource person was Mr Pavan N, International Karate athlete. The Convenors, Ms.Helen Serrao, Dr. Thangarani and eighty members of Women’s cell and Sports Association were the audience for this session.
The session began with Mr Pavan explaining the need to learn self defense and its importance in staying safe and tackling unexpected assailants in any given situation. He further stated that self-defense is important because it equips individuals with skills to protect themselves from physical harm, enhances personal safety and builds confidence and empowerment. It fosters mental resilience, improves physical fitness and develops situational awareness to help avoid dangerous situations. He then went on to demonstrate these techniques with the help of two volunteer students.
In conclusion, he reiterated that self defense provides the tools to take control of one’s security and navigate life’s challenges with greater capability and independence. The session ended with vote of thanks by Ms Yukthi, a member of the Women’s Cell Association.
The session was an insightful session that provided valuable knowledge and practical tips on self defense techniques.
